The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to uniform nomenclature of five security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Their role is to defend the national interest mainly against the internal threats. They are the  Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

 

RECRUITMENT-

 

 Recruitment of candidates is for both Male and Female. The is  conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, the Staff Selection Commission, or the respective service HQs depending on the post to be filled. There are three possible pathways for recruitment to the CAPFs.

 

Here we are discussing about UPSC CAPF-

CAPF is a competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit the candidates in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The candidates recruited through this exam, join the forces as Assistant Commandant (AC). 

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The lower age limit for the CAPF exam is 20 years and the upper age limit is less than 25 years. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university. Marital status should be unmarried.

 

EXAM PATTERN

Written Test

The written examination comprise two papers:

 Paper I General Ability and Intelligence

 Paper II : General Studies, Essay and Comprehension.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Task:100 Metre Race,200 Metre Race, Long Jump, Shot Put (7.26 kgs)               

Medical Standards Test

Medical Standards Tests will be conducted under the supervision of a Nodal Authority to be appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs as per the standards of Paramilitary Forces

 

Personality Test

Candidates, who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks.

 

UPSC CAPF 2021 NOTIFICATION

The Union Public Service Commission will publish the Official Notification of CAPF Exam for 2021 Assistant Commandant on 15th April 2021. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the UPSC CAPF 2021 exam from 15th April 2021 till 05th May 2021. UPSC CAPF 2021 written exam will be conducted on 8th August 2021 across the nation.
